Held between the 11th and the 13th of November, AfricaCom attracted leading players from the international telecommunications industry and thousands of delegates from the African continent and beyond.
It was a fabulous opportunity to showcase our SMS marketing and communication platform, Messito, for the first time on African soil.
Elken Calleja, Messito’s Head of Marketing and Steven Sammut, our Product Manager were heavily involved in Messito’s participation in AfricaCom and they both made the journey to Cape Town to represent the brand for the duration of the event.
Here are a few of their “After AfricaCom” musings:
How would you describe your experience at AfricaCom in 3 words?
Bustling, positive and exhausting!
How was Messito received by AfricaCom’s visitors?
Although we both knew that SMS use is currently quite a hot topic in Africa, the attention we received exceeded our expectations. Delegates who tried Messito for the first time were impressed by the intuitive user interface, its ease of use and our competitive prices. To top it all off, our branded merchandise was a hit too!
Tell us about a typical day at AfricaCom?
Our days were jam packed! Each day kicked off with setting up our exhibition stand followed by meeting and greeting visitors, delivering demonstrations and explaining how Messito can assist a wide variety of industries in their communication efforts and promotional campaigns.
Apart from talking to entrepreneurs who want to use the online SMS platform for their promotional needs or to send notifications to customers, we also met a number of people who are interested in partnering with us to resell Messito in their own country.
We were also very pleased to hear positive comments about our brand, the Messito Parrot and our stand’s look-and-feel.
From the buzz at the conference to the beautiful sights of Cape Town, our experience at AfricaCom won’t be forgotten soon. If you didn’t make it to our stand at AfricaCom and would like to learn more about Messito, please drop us an email on [email protected] and we will be in touch.
